Tony Mentel incorporates a wide variety of materials - recycled  vintage fabrics, including curtains from his childhood home, semi precious stones, copper chains and beads in his work. Calling upon his life as a fashion designer, specialising in bridal wear, he uses techniques such as aand and machine embroidery, applique and hand beading to create scenes from queer life and the sussex countryside. In the last few years he has been creating a body of work centred on the iconic Duke's Mound in Brighton.
