Hexagons is a 15 piece series of artworks made from polyurethane rubber. In recent years Peter Mammes has found himself yearning to return to his first love - drawing. Frustrated by what he sees as a diminishing respect for this most fundamental of techniques, he has set himself the task of re-inventing drawing. For many months he has been experimenting and exploring various methods of producing his highly detailed and technically complex drawings in order to present them to the viewer as completely new objects. This series is Mammes' first completed project using multiple processes - drawing, UV resin exposure, moulding and casting.
